Gilbarad was the father of Ivorwen, wife of Dírhael and Aragorn's maternal great-grandfather.
Etymology
Gilbarad is Sindarin for Star fortress.
Note
He is only mentioned in an early version of The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen. Nevertheless, he was never replaced, but did not make into the published version of the Tale because of space concerns.[1]
