Handir (F.A. 441-495) son of Haldir was the fifth leader of the Haladin. He became the leader of the Haladin after his father fell in the rearguard of Fingon's host during its retreat from Angauglith. Handir was said to be a man of great prowess in battle, and he was slain by Orcs north of the Forest of Brethil. He married Beldis of the House of Bëor and had one son called Brandir the Lame.
