Haradwaith

Haradwaith is a land or region to the south of Gondor and Mordor. The name is loosely translated into "Sutherland". Haradwaith is s vast desert with a few Oasis and areas where Haradrim Tribes lived. We have very few direct references to Haradwaith, so its borders and extent are difficult to estimate. It may be a broad term, identical in meaning to the more common Harad. However, the few references we do have all seem to refer to the seaward lands around the Haven of Umbar, so the name may relate specifically to this area.
