Hatholdir was a Númenórean and a descendant of the House of Hador. He was a close friend of King Tar-Meneldur. He had a son named Orchaldor who married Tar-Meneldur's oldest daughter, Ailinel.[1]
Etymology
Hatholdir's name is Sindarin and seems to mean "Man of the Axe-blade" (from hathol, 'axe-blade', and the masculine suffix -dir).
