Height intent

Height intent is a method of determining canon, in that his works at the "height" of Tolkien's career, or around the time the Lord of the Rings was published. This is based on the supposition that Tolkien's writings were in "decline", as he turned to more theological and philosophical matters, such as the Irredeemability of Orcs, wrapping the story around those.
