Henderch was a Man of Númenor who lived in the area known as the Andustar or the Westlands. He seems to have belonged to the Guild of Venturers; at least, he sailed with his great captain, Aldarion, on at least one of his voyages to Middle-earth. After their return to Númenor on the ship Hirilondë, Henderch accompanied his lord into the west of the island. He was with the King's Heir on his fateful last visit to Erendis in Emerië, shortly before Tar-Meneldur chose to pass on the Sceptre to Aldarion.
Etymology
Henderch's name is Sindarin but difficult to translate. It appears to incorporate the root hend, meaning 'eye'.
