Hyarmendacil II was the twenty-fourth King of Gondor. He was the son of King Aldamir and reigned from Third Age 1540 to 1621.
Born as Vinyarion, his father Aldamir was slain in a war with the Haradrim in 1540 and Vinyarion wished to avenge Aldamir's death.
He accomplished this in 1551 with an astounding victory over the Haradrim and it was then when he proclaimed himself Hyarmendacil II (after his famous ancestor from the twelfth century Third Age)
He was succeeded by his son Minardil in 1621.
