James Edward Anthony "Tony" Tyler (October, 1943 – October 28, 2006), a British writer, was the author of The Tolkien Companion and its revisions. His main area of work, however, was articles on modern music, and also articles for several computer magazines. As a curiosity, Tyler was the godfather of James Bond-actor Daniel Craig.
