The player starts with Frodo Baggins and can get the rest of the other Fellowship of the Ring, except Boromir. You can recruit these while following the main story. You can also play many side quests. The player can swap whoever leads the Fellowship, equip other party members with a range of weapons and armour, distribute skills among the group, cast spells, and perform various skill-based actions. The world is quite large and a player can return to older parts of the world. The player can then discover new places, characters, quests and objects in the older parts. This makes a dynamic game. There is also a day/night system, in the night there is more change to encounter a Nazgûl and are some enemies stronger than at the day.
