Emily Jane Neave (née Suffield) (1872 - 22 February 1963[1]) was Mabel Tolkien's sister, and thus one of J.R.R. Tolkien's aunts.
Jane Neave worked as a schoolteacher, and the young J.R.R. Tolkien on occasion stayed with his aunt and her husband Edvin while Mabel Tolkien was hospitalized.[2]
Because of a suggestion from Jane Neave, J.R.R. Tolkien published the book The Adventures of Tom Bombadil in 1962.[3]
