Jef Murray, employed by the Pitts Theology Library of Emory University in Atlanta, has painted and sketched numerous Tolkien-related images for publications such as the Amon Hen journal, Parma Nole, and the Mallorn journal. He has also had Tolkien-related work featured in the St. Austin Review, a journal of Catholic culture.
In 2009, Murray made the illustrations for Hilary Tolkien's Black and White Ogre Country.
