Karen Wynn Fonstad

Karen Wynn Fonstad (April 18, 1945 – March 11, 2005) was the author of the popular Atlas of Middle-earth along with other fantasy-related atlases. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Masters Degree in Geography and a specialty in cartography. Sadly, she recently passed away from complications related to breast cancer.
