Letter 179 is a letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summary

Brogan had previously sent Tolkien a letter containing criticism that, in hindsight, he thought was stupid and tactless. Tolkien replies to him that he welcomed the criticism, and invites Brogan to write more, seeing as he pays such close attention to the books.
