Letter 293 is a letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summary

This is a fragment of a letter, sent to William Foster on December 29, 1966. Foster, a journalist for The Scotsman, had requested an interview. Tolkien prizes The Scotsman, but states that he cannot give interviews due to time constraints. New interviews would be when his new book cam out.

Note

An interview with Foster was published in The Scotsman of March 25, 1967, so apparently the Professor found time.
