Letter 6 is a letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summary

This letter was sent to Mrs E.M. Wright on February 13th, 1923. Mrs. Wright was the wife of Joseph Wright, Tolkien's foirmer philology professor. Mrs. Wright had sent Tolkien an offprint of an article by her husband, about Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Tolkien acknowledges its arrival, and asks about her husband; he has not heard any news of him lately. He then tells of his home situation - John and Michael had been ill with measles for most of January.

In a postscript he informs her that philology is making progress at the University of Oxford.
