Letter 80 is a letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

This fragment of an airgraph, dated September 3, 1944, was sent to Christopher in South Africa. Tolkien tells him of his attempts to teach Priscilla the meaning of G.K. Chesterton's The Ballad of the White Horse. In explaining it, he realizes the poem was not as good as he thought, and Chesterton was completely oblivious to Northern culture, both Christian and Heathen.
