Edith Bratt 3 January 1913 is a letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Edith Bratt, written on 3 January 1913.[1]
- Subject: Tolkien, who commenced the letter at midnight,[note 1] declares that his love for Edith has not changed in the last three years since they were separated and that he is willing to marry her.

- ↑ Tolkien turned 21 years old on 3 January 1913, and was therefore free to again contact Edith, from whom he had been separated by his custodian Father Francis Xavier Morgan.
