Jennifer Brookes-Smith 28 July 1955 is a letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Jennifer Brookes-Smith (name also given as "Jennifer Paxman"[1]), written on 28 July 1955.[2]
- Subject(s): Replying to a letter written in March, Tolkien apologises for having been busy.[2] Among the subjects Tolkien discusses in the letter are the production of the Appendices and map for The Return of the King and an impending trip to Gondor: Pelargir and Lossarnach - identified as Italy: Venice and Assisi.[1]
- Description: Two pages.[1]
- Publication: A description of the letter appeared in The J.R.R. Tolkien Companion and Guide: Chronology. Extracts from the letter were reproduced in Christie's 20th Century Books and Manuscripts 2 December 2003.
