Miss Turnbull 2 May 1955 is a letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to a Miss Turnbull in Whitby, Yorkshire. The letter was written on 2 May, 1955.[1]

  • Contents: Tolkien writes that he is currently "putting final touches on the third volume of The Lord of the Rings (evidently in Appendices D and E)."[1] He remarks that delays in the publication of The Return of the King have been his fault, not the publishers. Furthermore, Tolkien mentions other writings.[2]
