A loa (or löa, plural löar[1]) was a name used by the Elves for a single year; also called a Coranar.

Etymology

The word was used especially in the Westlands and (in contrast to the astronomical coranar) took into consideration (as generally the Elves did) the seasonal changes in vegetation.[2]
