This page should be merged with Oliphaunts.Mûmak, plural mûmakil is the Haradric name of the gigantic animals they used in battle. The word mûmakil was adopted in Westron among the soldiers of Gondor. The Hobbits instead knew them as Oliphaunts.[1]
