Sindarin
malt is a Sindarin word meaning "gold".[1]
In his Appendix on "Elements in Quenya and Sindarin Names", Christopher Tolkien noted the prefix mal-, meaning "gold".[2]
David Salo has suggested the Neo-Sindarin word malad, or malt, meaning "gold (metal)".[3]
