Tolkien first noted the verb as ten, before amending the first consonant. In those notes he pointed the following forms

  • tene (aorist) "goes"
  • tenin (aorist) "I go"
  • téna (present) "is coming to an end"
  • tenne (past + locative) "arrived, reached"
  • tenuva (future) will arrive
  • eténie (perfect) "has just arrived"
