Náin II (Third Age 2338 – 2585, died age 247) was the King of Durin's folk for 97 years, succeeding his father Óin upon his death in T.A. 2488, being the heir of Durin the Deathless.[1]

Náin was King of the Dwarves of Durin whilst they lived in the Grey Mountains, where the majority of Durin's folk had lived since the days of Thorin I who had moved there from Erebor, the Lonely Mountain in order to mine its riches. Towards the end of Náin's reign dragons from the wastes to the north began to come south and make war on the Dwarves.

Náin had two children, Dáin and Borin, and through his two children was the ancestor of, amongst others, Thorin Oakenshield, Dáin Ironfoot, Gimli, son of Glóin and Durin the VII and Last. Náin died in T.A. 2585, as the age of 247, and was succeeded by his son as Dáin I.
