The name given by the [[Dúnedain]] to the second month of the year. The word Nínui comes from the [[Sindarin]] language, and its [[Quenya]] equivalent is [[Nénimë]]. Both words seem to be related to the [[Elvish]] stem-word 'nen', relating to water and wetness - presumably a reference to the late winter rains and their results.

Nínui is the second month of the calendar of the Dúnedain. It was also called Nénimë in Quenya. Both words mean as much as "Wet" - presumably a reference to the late winter rains and their results.[1]
