nestegi is an Exilic Noldorin word meaning "insert, stick in". The past tense is said to be nestanc.[1]
Didier Willis has suggested that nestag- (retaining the same meaning) would be the valid Neo-Sindarin form of the infinitive verb nestegi.[2]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The word derives from Old Noldorin nestak- ("insert, stick in"), from root STAK.[1]
