Nivrim was the small wood of mostly oaks, that lay to the north of the Aelin-uial extending to Taeglin; the only part of the kingdom of Doriath to the west of the River Sirion, it was encompassed within the Girdle of Melian and connected with the rest of the kingdom with a bridge.[1]

Etymology

The name means "west-march" from Doriathrin nivon and rim[2]
