Om Beowulfsagan ("On the Tale of Beowulf") is a 1975 Swedish-language collection of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Beowulf: The Monsters and the Critics", "Prefatory Remarks on Prose Translation of 'Beowulf'", and "English and Welsh". All three pieces were already in print separately, but had not been published together in a collection. Christopher Tolkien was later to include them in 1983 in The Monsters and the Critics.

The book also includes a Foreword by translator Åke Ohlmarks.

From the back

In his famous essays on the Old English heroic epic Beowulf, Tolkien presents a defense of both the hero and the monsters, of both the story and the poetry of the work.

J.R.R. Tolkien, who was Professor of Anglo-Saxon at Oxford, here also shows how much his scientific achievement inspired the tales of The Lord of the Rings.

This is a book for all those who wish to penetrate more deeply into Tolkien's imagination and his interest in language and stories.
