Quenya

orna is a Quenya word meaning "tall, high, lofty".[1] Another gloss given is "hasty".[2]

Etymology

In "Words, Phrases and Passages", the word derives from root OR, RŌ.[1]

In the Etymologies, Quenya orna ("hasty") derives from root GOR ("violence, impetus, haste").[2]

Elvish

In the Unfinished Tales is noted the Elvish "ancient adjectival form" ornā ("uprising, tall"), given no designated language.[3] It is possibly archaic Telerin.Template:Or
