Around 420, Ostoher expanded the citadel of [[Minas Anor]]. Reconstructing the citadel was a massive undertaking (some sources suggest that it took as long as ten years), and might have been the source of Ostoher's royal name. After the construction was finished, he took Minas Anor as his summer residence, a tradition carried on by his successors.

Ostoher (T.A. 222[1]492,[2] aged 270) was the seventh King of Gondor.

History

In T.A. 420, Ostoher rebuilt and enlarged Minas Anor.[3] Upon completion, he made Minas Anor his summer residence, which became the tradition of his successors.[4]

Later, in T.A. 490, Gondor was invaded for the first time by Easterlings. Since Ostoher had become an old man his son Tarostar worked to defeat this threat. Tarostar succeeded, but not until T.A. 500, years after Ostoher's death.[3]
