PED is a Common Eldarin root signifying "fall in steep slant, incline, slope, slant down".[1][2]

  • Quenya: pende ("slope, downslope, declivity")
  • Noldorin: penn, pend; am-benn[4] ("uphill"); dadbenn ("downhill, inclined, prone (to do)"[4])
