IMDbProfile

Solomon Hersh Frees (1920-1986, aged 66) was an American actor and author, but above all else a legendary voice actor, nicknamed "The Man of a Thousand Voices". He lent four of those to characters in the Rankin/Bass animated films: in The Hobbit, he voiced Bombur and the first Troll; in The Return of the King he took over Cyril Ritchard's part of Elrond, and voiced an unnamed Goblin.
