Perry-the-Winkle was a humorous poem written by Samwise Gamgee and recorded in the Red Book of Westmarch.[1] It speaks about the Lonely Troll and three Hobbits, which were perhaps based on real Hobbits.[2]
Etymology
Periwinckle is a marine mollusc and a creeping plant.[3]
