Peter Roe (c. 1963-1979) was a British Tolkien fan. Introduced to Tolkien's legendarium at the age of 16, Roe began making his own poems, maps and writing systems, but he died in a traffic accident before his work was done. His unfinished work, the Dwarvish Chronicles, was later published by the Society.
A short time later The Tolkien Society created The Peter Roe Memorial Fund.
