Randir is a Sindarin word meaning wanderer or pilgrim.

Etymology

It is derived from the root RAN and dîr. The Old Sindarin form must have been *ranandîro

J.R.R. Tolkien may have been inspired by the old, and now obsolete French verb randir, meaning "to walk very fast".
