Rhosgobel
From Tolkien Gateway
Rhosgobel was the house of Radagast on the western borders of Mirkwood, said to lie between the Carrock and the Old Forest Road.[1]
Etymology
Rhosgobel, glossed as "russet village or 'town' (enclosure)",[2] is likely a compound of rhosc ("brown") and gobel ("walled house or village, town").[3] The name of the house was perhaps a reference to its resident, the Brown Wizard.
Other versions of the legendarium
In The Hobbit, Gandalf says that Radagast "lives near the southern borders of Mirkwood".[4]
Portrayal in adaptations
