Richard Allen Lupoff (born February 21, 1935) is an American science fiction and mystery author, and an expert on Edgar Rice Burroughs and H. P. Lovecraft.

In his 1965 book on Burroughs, Edgar Rice Burroughs: Master of Adventure, Lupoff quoted from a letter from J.R.R. Tolkien.[1]
