Rosa was the daughter of [[Ponto Baggins I|Ponto Baggins]] and [[Mimosa Bunce]]. She married [[Hildigrim Took]], son of [[Gerontius Took|the Old Took]]. They had only one child, [[Adalgrim Took|Adalgrim]], born in {{SR|1280|n}}.<ref>{{App|Took}}</ref>
Rosa's husband never became [[Thain]], but her grandson, [[Paladin Took II|Paladin]], and her great-grandson, [[Peregrin Took]], both became Thain and so did their descendants. Rosa is also the great-grandmother of [[Meriadoc Brandybuck]] through her grand-daughter, [[Esmeralda Took|Esmeralda]]. Rosa and Hildigrim only had one child, [[Adalgrim Took|Adalgrim]], born in 1280, who also never became Thain.
 
Rosa's date of death is unknown, but in an earlier revision of the Took family tree her birth and death dates were given as [[Third Age 2850|1250]] and [[Third Age 2940|1340]] respectively. From this we could assume that she died in [[Third Age 2946|1346]], but the only thing we can know for sure - based on the knowledge that the Old Took was the oldest recorded hobbit - is that she died before [[Third Age 2986|1386]].

History

Rosa was the daughter of Ponto Baggins and Mimosa Bunce. She married Hildigrim Took, son of the Old Took. They had only one child, Adalgrim, born in 1280.[2]
