SMAL, is a Primitive Quendian root signifying "yellow".[1]

    • Quenya: ammale, ambale ("yellow bird, 'yellow hammer'")
    • Old Noldorin: ammale, ammalinde ("yellow bird, 'yellow hammer'")
      • Noldorin: e(m)melin, emlin ("yellow bird, 'yellow hammer'")
