sauron the dark lord went on a mission to conguer all of middle earth he killed murded slaughtered drew qaurtered and destroyed but in the rush to destroy gondor he stopped ... probably ran out of conkers ha get it . anyway no it was beacuse isulder king of gondor took his own shattered sword narsil and sheathed the ring from saurons finger saurons mission had died and faded but his soul lived on waiting for the ring so he could reform back into his mutated self though sauron is only a little bit less evil than his master for a long time he worked for someone else other than himself...
