Second Age 442 (abbreviated to S.A. 442) is the 442nd year of the Sun of the Second Age of Middle-earth.
Notable events in this year include:
- Death of King Elros Tar-Minyatur of Númenor.[1]
- Elros's eldest son, Vardamir Nólimon, becomes the second King of Númenor but immediately abdicates in favour of his son.[2]
- Vardamir's son, Tar-Amandil, becomes the third King of Númenor.[3]
