The term is also used more broadly in reference to the darkening of the minds of people as a result of the [[Arda Marred|Marring of Arda]], especially in reference to the [[Númenóreans]] in the last half of the [[Second Age]].

The term is also used more broadly in reference to the darkening of the minds of people as a result of the Marring of Arda, especially in reference to the Númenóreans in the last half of the Second Age.
