—Mike Singleton[2]
Shadowfax is a commercial, unlicensed arcade action video game released in 1982.[3] The primary designer was Mike Singleton, who later worked on Interplay's J.R.R. Tolkien's War in Middle Earth.[4][5][6]
Design
The graphics of the moving horses came from Computer Race, an earlier game by Mike Singleton (which was cancelled due to the UK's betting laws), and were in fact taken from the photos of Eadweard Muybridge.[2]
Gameplay
The player is Gandalf, riding on Shadowfax; the objective is to kill the chasing Nazgûl with lightning.[3][7]
