I don't know how many got sold, but I got about £6,000 in royalties! I mean it was about the best rate of pay I've ever had!

- Mike Singleton[2]

Shadowfax is an action-video game released in 1982.[3]

Design

The graphics of the moving horses came from Computer Race, an earlier game by Mike Singleton (which was cancelled due to the UK's betting laws), and were in fact taken from the photos of Eadweard Muybridge.[2]

Gameplay

The player is Gandalf, riding on Shadowfax; the objective is to kill the chasing Nazgûl with lightning.[3][4]
