Soloneldi is a Telerin word meaning "surf-singers", a term for themselves (along with Fallinelli). [1]

The singular form is perhaps *Solonel, cf. Fallinel. It is unknown why the form is not given as Solonelli.

Etymology

The first part derives from the root SOL (*solo) and the second from NYEL (*neldi).

Other versions

Solosimpi was Tolkien's older name of the Teleri.
