Talath Dirnen, the Guarded Plain, was the empty land between Nargothrond and Doriath in West Beleriand. In its eastern part was the lone hill of Amon Rûdh.[2] The plain, although uninhabited, was watched by the scouts and spies of Nargothrond.[3]
