The article begins with words "Akallabêth ("The Downfallen" in Adûnaic; Quenya is Atalantë) is the story of the destruction of the Kingdom of Númenor" (my italics), but I think it should be stressed that Akallabêth is also (or even primarily) the name of the sunken Númenor, like Mar-nu-Falmar and Atalantë (see the last words in Silmarillion: "Akallabêth"). --Tik 02:45, 8 November 2007 (EST)

These things are all true. The Downfall of Númenor currently is and should be the article describing the catastrophic event; this article should be for the word Akallabêth as a name for the sunken island. Either in this article or something like Akallabêth (document) should be the description of the story appended to the Silmarillion that, in-universe, was written by Elendil. The current article is a direct copy of the Wikipedia one and needs a huge amount of work. —Tar-Telperien 05:56, 8 November 2007 (EST)

I'm in agreement with Tar-Telperien, the article on the actual event should be the Downfall of Númenor article (have the 'Fall of Numenor' and 'Drowning of Numenor' as redirects). There's the additional consideration that Akallabeth is also the name of the chapter in the Silmarillion. Whether we need to make a seperate page for that or whether we can take the Akallabeth article to deal with the chapter with a section on the name is up for debate. :Well the chapter in the Silmarillion is the exact same thing as the story written by Elendil, so I don't see why we would need a separate page for that. The infobox for the parts of the Silmarillion should definitely link to it, as should the actual article on the book (and I believe these things already do link to it). —Tar-Telperien 17:19, 8 November 2007 (EST)

We need a main article for the destruction of Númenor. Should it be this article (which would need expansion), or the perhaps more appropriate Fall of Númenor? --Narfil Palùrfalas 17:11, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
