Please allow the page to be moved to Fastred (Man of Rohan). Even ignoring the adaptations, nowhere in the song in ROTK is he or the other people identified as Riders. Man of Rohan is 100% accurate and does not imply he was something not stated in the text of the book. That is helps with adaptation is only a minor bonus. ::Because "Rider of Rohan" refers to a mounted warrior, while "Rohirrim" is a more general term, applied to all people of Rohan (women, child, elders, farmers, nobility etc.). The Song of the Mounds of Mundburg only lists him among the fallen, nothing else is stated about him. Case in point: The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of Rohan uses names from the Song of Mudburg for various characters and gives them different backstories: one is a travelling bard, another is a Ruler of a City, yet another is a son of a Noble. All are riders is terms of "born in saddle and able to ride", yet neither is a Rider in term of "a mounted soldier", which is listed on Rohirrim page. We cannot use the adaptation-exclusive information in the title, but still something more specific is required. Fastred (Rohirrim) perhaps? Or Fastred (War of the Ring)? Because there is no definite proof in the text of the book that he a mere rider, or even one at all, simply that he was a casualty. Malachi 20:03, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Because "Rider of Rohan" refers to a mounted warrior, while "Rohirrim" is a more general term, applied to all people of Rohan (women, child, elders, farmers, nobility etc.). Malachi 20:03, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Lotro is irrelevant to naming conventions on the wiki. And "Rohirrim" is a) plural and b) means "Horselords", or less literal, "Riders of Rohan". So that would make it only worse. rider of Rohan is fine. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 20:11, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
