Talk:Grog

What has grog to do with anything?

The portrayal in adaptations section doesn't convince that the word "grog" is referenced or mentioned in the media. What has the "medicine" of TT has to do with grog? Is it called so in dialogue? Sage 16:39, 8 August 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yes it is. EldritchNexus 06:36, 1 September 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

After some thought I decided that this article shouldn't be included here. After realizing that the scene in TT didn't mention "grog" at all, and reading that the word is used almost generically to refer to any alcoholic mixture, it seems that its appearance in H is also used generically; apparently the Trolls were just making an improvisional mixture of drink rather than a specific recipe of what can be termed "the Grog". The word is thus a dictionary term rather than encyclopedic to warrant an inclusion here.

The only definite appearance of "the Grog" seems to be Shadows of Mordor, which I haven't seen myself, but does this single non-canonical appearance justifies the article? Sage 05:46, 21 August 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Perhaps parts of the information on this page could go to a broader page about alcoholic beverages in M-e? I'm with you on the deletion of this page.--Morgan 10:15, 21 August 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
