Hyarion, could you or one of the other editors look on this website and find the copyright information? I really know little about such matters. Thanks. --Narfil Palùrfalas 22:06, 5 June 2006 (EDT)

Hm, copyright regarding if the Tolkien Estate will sue them or if we can copy the content and post it here? I've known about that blog for a while and am trying to remeber if I've emailed the author or not about copying it here. If not I'll send another off, but I have a feeling the TE would frown upon such large amounts of verbatim, and trying to add to it as well so maybe we should hold off for now and just link to the post. --Hyarion 22:30, 5 June 2006 (EDT)

Hello. I am the author of the referenced post, and I've only just now become aware that anybody knew about it. Until last week nobody had ever emailed me about it or commented on the blog post except a couple of spam bots.

I have no objection to the reproduction of this work, with appropriate attribution. However, I have no reason to believe the Tolkien Estate would approve. I don't really know what the law is regarding this sort of piece; it obviously cannot exist independent of the original, which copyright they hold, and I would not advise posting my material together with Tolkien's for that reason. Moreover there is a chunk of text (lines 5172-5195) in the middle of mine which is completely Tolkien's. It appears in HoME 3 with the note "a fragment from the end of the poem" and is incorporated in my version in a way that cannot readily be separated.
